About Us
Dr. Abhishek Sinha
Dr. Abhishek Sinha is a dual qualified (England & Wales and India) corporate lawyer with a post-qualification experience of more than 18 years. Being the former Equity Partner of India’s top magic circle law firms, he is an expert in corporate laws, specifically in laws relating to M&A, PE and JVs. Hanging his consultancy boots in late 2019, he has been passionately working towards bridging the gap between academia and legal industry. He is the founder of NotJustLex, a government-recognised startup which trains young legal professionals and law students with the unique construct of participatory learning. Abhishek has been recognised and awarded by several eminent forums for his entrepreneurial and innovative work in the legal education space; and he has also been included in several coveted lists of lawyers, entrepreneurs and business leaders. Even his startup has been awarded several national and international awards. His work has been featured by Forbes India and is also a two-time TedX speaker. He is also the creator of ABSIN; India’s first AI based digital law professor. As a Harvard certified higher educationist, he has a very innovative take on classroom teachings.
Before joining UPES, Abhishek was an Equity Partner with the Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Team at Khaitan & Co, Mumbai and a Partner with Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Mumbai. He has also worked as an ‘International Visiting Attorney’ at Morrison & Foerster, Tokyo. In late 2019, with the vision to bridge the gap between academia and industry, he resigned from his equity partnership at Khaitan & Co and founded NotJustLex. Presently, he is the Dean & Professor at School of Law, UPES, Dehradun; and is also heading the Department of Internationality at UPES. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of UPES Law Review (UGC-Care Listed Journal), National Administrator, Surana & Surana National Insolvency Law Moot Court Competitions and the Chairperson, UPES Pro-Bono Club of Ministry of Law & Justice, Government of India.

Anushka Srivastava
Anushka Srivastava is currently working as Assistant Professor at School of Law, UPES, Dehradun. She is an avid reader who is passionate about the intersection of law, finance and sustainability.
She pursued her BBA LLB from Delhi Metropolitan Education affiliated with GGSIPU, followed by Master of Law from UPES, Dehradun where she was awarded the best PG student of the year award in 2022 for academic excellence.
With a strong background in legal research methodologies and a love for academia, she strives to contribute to the ever-evolving field of law. As a legal researcher and academician, she is skilled in utilizing various research tools and databases to conduct thorough and rigorous research, analysing legal principles and synthesizing complex information into comprehensive reports.
Prior to adopting her role as an assistant professor, she was engaged in legal research as a full-time researcher at UPES for over 1.5 years emphasizing on the legal framework governing the role of green financing in mitigating climate change via listed companies in India.
She received first prize at 1st Young International Research conclave organised by R&D (UPES) for best poster presentation in energy and environment theme. She has published articles and book chapters in reputable legal journals and books, presenting her research findings to the wider legal community.
